Meet Ruth Penfold-Brown, Founder of Bloom. Ruth is on a mission to empower women in HR to craft the career they really want on their own terms, and truly bloom in their career without the weight of imposter syndrome and the burden of burnout.
Ruth has worked in leadership roles with Shazam (the famous music app), Onfido (a financial technology company), and bp Launchpad (a clean-energy investment subsidiary of bp; a Fortune 500 top 40 company).
But it wasnā€™t always that way. She spent many years working under others, working hard and waiting to be given opportunities to grow. She found herself holding back in meetings and struggling to self advocate.
She remembers the pressure she put on herself to try to please people and be who she thought others wanted her to be. She immersed herself in leadership development and learned the skills, tools, and mindset that got her from overwhelmed, overworked and undervalued to that elusive C-Suite, and that is what inspired her to create Bloom.
In Bloom, she brings those learnings to life in an actionable programme that gives other women the tools and confidence to build a career beyond their wildest dreams.
As Ruth often says; 'When one woman steps into their power, it inspires other women to do the same. It is our time to Bloom.'
